Four councils, 29 chapters, and a Greek community woven into downtown Richmond.
At Virginia Commonwealth University, Fraternity & Sorority Life brings together 29 active chapters across four governing councils—IFC, CPC, NPHC, and MGC—plus honor and service organizations. Instead of an isolated suburban row, VCU Greek life thrives right in the heart of Richmond: from chapter townhouses along West Grace and West Cary Streets to NPHC and MGC yard shows on the Compass, philanthropy weeks in the Commons Plaza, and formals overlooking the James River.

Interfraternity Council (IFC), College Panhellenic Council (CPC), National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) unite 29 active chapters on Monroe Park Campus.
The Commons Plaza, the Compass outside Cabell Library, and Monroe Park serve as the daily heartbeat of VCU Greek life—hosting SOVO Fair recruitment tables, probate shows, stroll-offs, and week-long philanthropy tournaments.
VCU fraternities and sororities anchor campus-wide philanthropy—raising tens of thousands of dollars annually for Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU through RamTHON, Derby Days, Think Pink Week, and G.I. Theta Chi.
James Branch Cabell Library overlooks the Compass—where chapters table during SOVO Weeks of Welcome, host philanthropy cookouts, and gather between classes.

Steps from Franklin and Laurel Streets, Monroe Park is Richmond's oldest park and the central green of VCU's Monroe Park Campus. Fraternities and sororities gather here for Bid Day reveals, alumni tailgates, charity flag football and spikeball tournaments, and golden-hour chapter photos.
Unlike isolated suburban Greek rows, VCU's chapter houses and member townhouses are woven into historic Fan District blocks along West Grace, West Franklin, and West Cary Streets. These blocks come alive during Fall and Spring Rush socials, brotherhood and sisterhood cookouts, and homecoming weekend.
Cabell Library and the adjoining Compass quad form the crossroads of VCU. By day, the Compass hosts the SOVO Fair, NPHC and MGC stroll showcases, and philanthropy booths; by evening, Cabell's collaborative floors host chapter study hours and academic mentorship nights.
Designed by Steven Holl Architects at the gateway of Broad and Belvidere, the ICA at VCU is a favorite backdrop for chapter composite shoots, cultural showcases, alumni mixers, and graduating senior send-offs.
